The ESOT Social Media Guidelines are designed to advance the ESOT’s engagement with its community and expand its outreach on social networks. The guidelines encourage ESOT ambassadors to be active participants in social networks while upholding our fundamental value that ESOT ambassadors should not express personal opinions on controversial issues such as political or religious beliefs while representing ESOT.

DO’S & DON’TS

DO’S
  • Follow ESOT accounts on Twitter: @ESOTtransplant
  • Join the ESOT group on LinkedIn
  • Follow ESOT  on Linkedin
  • Follow ESOT on Instagram: @esottransplant
  • Like ESOT on Facebook at @ESOTtransplant
  • Communicate with respect and consideration for others, and keep criticism constructive.
  • Use common sense and courtesy when tweeting. The “Golden Rule” is: post unto others as you would have them post unto you. We are a community of professionals and we should conduct ourselves professionally.
  • Be generous with compliments and feel free to share interesting links to projects and materials, highlighting colleague’s research in a positive way. The tone of posts should always be polite and respectful, as if you were speaking to the presenter directly.
  • Please be prudent about posting unpublished research results.
DON’TS
  • Capture, transmit, or redistribute data presented at the meeting when the speaker expressly recommended not to share – this may preclude its later publication in a scientific journal. It is possible that sharing of data without the speakers’ consent on public domain may preclude subsequent publications in a scholarly journal and/or compromise their scientific progress. Additionally, data taken in isolation may be inappropriately interpreted and result in harmful consequences.
  • Post copyrighted or trademarked material for material protected by other intellectual property rights.
  • Use ESOT’s social media platforms to comment on medical, legal, or litigious matters.
Post derogatory, demeaning, inflammatory, offensive, disrespectful, hateful, sales-oriented, or otherwise inappropriate comments.

The ESOT Social Media Ambassador programme is dedicated to the promotion of the ESOT brand through our main social channels. Being part of the ESOT Social Media Ambassador programme means that you will support ESOT in expanding its reach by channelling our messages on behalf of the organisation through your personal (social) networks.

ESOT Social Media Ambassadors are not paid but receive an honorary position as an “ESOT Social Media Ambassador”. They are part of a long-term strategy and vision and are free to join and leave the programme at their convenience.
