Have your say: Global Consultation on the INTEGRITY Project Draft Guidelines

October 8, 2025 | Ethics, Law and Psychosocial | Organ donation

The INTEGRITY Project is inviting feedback from the international community on a draft set of guidelines designed to shape the ethical future of research involving deceased donation and transplantation.

Led by the European Society of Organ Transplantation (ESOT), in partnership with the International Society for Organ Donation Professionals (ISODP) – LINK and The Transplantation Society (TTS) – LINK, the INTEGRITY Project is working to develop globally relevant, ethically sound guidance for how such research is designed, conducted, and reviewed.

Why this matters
These guidelines could influence policies and practices around the world. This consultation is a key opportunity to ensure they are informed, inclusive, and grounded in real-world experience.

Who should take part?
The survey is open to all, but we are especially seeking input from:

  • Professionals involved in organ, tissue, or cell donation and transplantation
  • Researchers whose work involves deceased donors or post-mortem material
  • Donor family members
  • Transplant recipients
  • Those involved in the ethical oversight of such research

If your work, experience, or perspective touches on any part of this field, your voice is important.

How to take part
The consultation consists of a short, anonymous survey based on the current draft of the guidelines. Your feedback will directly shape the final version and help guide future work on the project.

Take the survey or find out more: https://redcap.link/integrity

The draft guidelines and survey will be available in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish.

To download a draft copy of the guidelines, please click on your preferred language. We strongly recommend reviewing the draft PDF before commencing the feedback survey, as the draft document contains important preamble text that explains the scope of the guidelines, as well as a glossary of key terms.

Survey opens: 2 October
Closes: 31 October – no extensions

This is your chance to help shape international ethical standards. Please take part and share widely with your colleagues and networks.
