The European Society for Organ Transplantation (ESOT), in partnership with The Lancet, has launched the ESOT–Lancet Commission on Transplantation, a global initiative to reimagine transplantation as a cornerstone of sustainable and equitable healthcare.
Led by Elmi Müller and Gabriel Oniscu (ESOT Past President), the Commission brings together international experts to develop a roadmap for integrating transplantation into broader health system priorities, addressing global disparities, and fostering long-term resilience.
A key outcome will be the creation of the Global Transplant Health Forum (GTHF), a platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and implementation beyond the Commission’s work.
