The World Health Organization is inviting the global transplantation community to review its draft Global Strategy on Donation and Transplantation. This is your opportunity to contribute your expertise – and help shape the future of transplantation worldwide.
Transplantation saves and transforms lives. Yet access to these treatments remains profoundly unequal, both between and within countries, leaving millions of potential recipients without the care they need.
To address these disparities, the World Health Organization (WHO) has developed the first draft of a new Global Strategy on Donation and Transplantation of Human Cells, Tissues and Organs. The strategy aims to establish a shared direction for global action and support coordinated efforts to expand equitable and ethical access to transplantation.
WHO is now calling on the transplantation community to review the draft and share feedback on:
- Its clarity, relevance and feasibility across different settings
- Any outstanding factual issues
- Important gaps or risks that should be addressed
Whether you are a healthcare professional, scientist, researcher, policy-maker, regulator, patient representative, advocate or member of a professional body, your perspective can help strengthen this landmark global strategy.
Feedback received through the public consultation will inform the final strategy, which is expected to be presented for adoption at the 80th World Health Assembly in 2027.
