ESOT (European Society for Organ Transplantation) was honoured to participate in the Informal Meeting of the National Competent Authorities for Organ Donation and Transplantation. This significant event was hosted by the Hungarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union in Budapest on 10 July 2024. ESOT Involvement in key EU-funded projects presented:

BRAVEST-EU Project

Luciano Potena showcased the BRAVEST project, which aims to establish a resilient, pan-European network for organ donation and transplantation. The goal is to create systems that can effectively respond to global crises and disasters, ensuring continuity and efficiency in organ donation and transplantation processes even during challenging times.

EURO-KEP Project

The EURO-KEP project, also highlighted at the conference, is dedicated to developing a comprehensive, European-wide kidney exchange program. This initiative aims to improve the efficiency and outcomes of kidney transplants across Europe by facilitating better matching and exchange opportunities.
