The ENGAGE Initiative – The EuropeaN Guidelines for the mAnagement of Graft rEcipients– continues its mission to strengthen clinical practice and research in transplantation.
Building on the foundations of ENGAGE I and ENGAGE II, we are pleased to announce the launch of ENGAGE III. This new phase focuses on one of the most pressing challenges in transplant medicine: antibody-mediated rejection (ABMR).
Why ENGAGE III Matters
ABMR remains a major barrier to long-term graft survival and improved patient outcomes. Despite advances in transplantation science, treatment approaches still vary, and new therapies continue to emerge – creating ongoing challenges for clinicians.
ENGAGE III aims to bring clarity, consistency, and direction to this complex field by providing evidence-based insights and practical guidance for the transplant community.
Objectives of ENGAGE III
ENGAGE III is built around a clear and focused agenda:
- Comprehensive Literature Review – A systematic evaluation of current research to identify optimal treatment strategies for ABMR.
- State-of-the-Art Review Publication – A definitive summary of the latest evidence and clinical practices.
- Dissemination Webinar – An interactive platform to share findings with the wider transplant community.
- Guideline Development – A contribution towards structured, evidence-based European recommendations for ABMR management.
Expected Impact
ENGAGE III aims to deliver meaningful outcomes across the transplant field:
- Improved understanding of optimal ABMR treatment strategies
- A comprehensive review to guide both research and clinical practice
- Increased awareness of best practices through targeted dissemination
- Progress towards harmonised European guidelines for ABMR management
