Today, on World Transplant Day, we are highlighting the need for stronger, more sustainable transplant systems.
Transplantation saves lives, but the systems behind it continue to face growing pressure – from workforce shortages and inequalities in access to wider environmental and health system challenges.
On ESOT Action Day in April, we launched the ESOT Agenda on Sustainable Transplantation, setting out a clear call to build robust, equitable and future-ready transplant systems that can adapt to change while continuing to deliver high-quality care.
Sustainable transplantation is not optional – it is essential to protect patients, honour donors and ensure transplant systems remain resilient for future generations.
