BSC – the Basic Science Committee- would like to announce a call for nominations for four Board members. The new BSC Board Members will hold office for four years (2023-2027), starting at the ESOT Congress, September 2023.
All ESOT/BSC affiliates are eligible to submit their applications for the positions. You may nominate yourself or a colleague.
In addition, considering the specialties currently represented on the Board, BSC encourages applications from Basic Scientists with a background in natural Sciences, Bioinformaticians and Clinician Scientists working in the field of transplantation. Elected Board members will be actively involved in the Committee by attending Board meetings, educational events (courses), and the annual meetings, supporting ongoing work of the BSC. Please note that Board members act as volunteers and thus serve without compensation.
The BSC Board is strongly committed to principles of diversity and inclusion and promotes balance in geographic and professional representation. Members of traditionally underrepresented groups are particularly encouraged to apply.
The Basic Science Committee was founded in 2003 to promote basic science and clinical research in organ transplantation within ESOT. An active basic science community, and an efficient translation of innovation into the clinic, are crucial for the future of transplant medicine. Core activities include dedicated basic science meetings, symposia and courses at the biannual ESOT congress and a basic science grant programme.
