Applications Now Open for the HESPERIS Course 2026​

The European Society for Organ Transplantation (ESOT) is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the HESPERIS Course 2026, which will take place from 16 to 18 April 2026 in Rotterdam.

The HESPERIS Course is a comprehensive and immersive educational programme designed for physicians, surgeons, and scientists entering the field of organ transplantation. Over three intensive in-person days, participants will benefit from a dynamic curriculum featuring:

  • Lectures on both foundational and cutting-edge topics in transplantation
  • Breakout sessions and small-group discussions
  • Interactive case study presentations
  • A wide range of online preparatory materials and lectures

Led by an exceptional and diverse faculty of experts, HESPERIS 2026 will explore the full spectrum of transplantation, including transplant immunology, organ donation and preservation, recipient evaluation and management, regenerative medicine, and transplant humanities.

To ensure meaningful interaction and active engagement, participation is limited to 45 attendees.

Application Process

Participation in the 2026 edition of the HESPERIS Course is subject to a selection process.

The application window is now open and will close on Monday, 15 December. Applications received after this deadline will unfortunately not be considered.

Interested applicants are invited to submit the following documents to denise.desalvo@esot.org by 15 December:

  • Curriculum Vitae (maximum 2 pages)
  • Motivation letter
  • Support letter from the Head of Department

Successful candidates will be notified around mid-January and invited to complete their registration.

Please note that the selection process does not apply to ESOT grant recipients who have selected the HESPERIS Course as part of their grant. These individuals are automatically admitted and will receive separate communication with all relevant administrative details.
