As previously announced, at the ESOT Congress 2021 in Milan, Oriol Bestard, Umberto Cillo, and Frank Dor will complete their term in office as ESOT Councillors. In addition, the seat of Xavier Rogiers, who sadly left us too soon in 2019, needs to be filled.
This year, therefore, all eligible ESOT members are called to elect four new Councillors.
The call for nominations for four Councillor positions closed on April 11 and the election will take place from April 30, 2021 to June 4, 2021 at 11:59 PM CEST.
We are delighted to announce the final list of candidates (in alphabetical order):
- Ian Alwayn (Western Europe)
- Atul Bagul (Western Europe)
- Chloe Balleste Delpierre (Southern Europe)
- Ekaterine Berishvili (Eastern Europe)
- Piotr Domagala (Eastern Europe)
- Frank Dor (Western Europe)
- Christophe Duvoux (Western Europe)
- Cristian Lupascu (Eastern Europe)
- Lorna Marson (Western Europe)
- Geir Mjoen (Northern Europe)
- Anna Mrzljak (Southern Europe)
- Raj Thuraisingham (Western Europe)
All members of ESOT residing in Europe and in good standing with their 2021 membership will receive an email from our partner, Civica Election Services. The message will include information about the voting process and a unique link to the voting platform, where eligible members will be able to view the CVs and statements of the candidates and cast their vote.
ESOT members who would like to exercise their right to vote should renew their 2021 ESOT membership at their earliest convenience.
Please note that once you renew your membership, we will need a couple of days to process your information and send you a voting email – make sure to plan accordingly!
Candidates will be grouped by geographical area and voters will be asked to rank them accordingly. The candidate receiving the highest number of votes in each area will be elected, with the exception of Northern Europe: there was only candidate for this area, Geir Mjoen, who has been elected unopposed.
Nominees will be informed of the outcome of the election upon closing of the voting platform. The outcome of the election will need to be ratified by the ESOT General Assembly at the ESOT Congress in Milan.
All ESOT members are invited to exercise their democratic right and vote.
