Survey on CMV Management in Solid Organ Transplantation

February 27, 2026 | General

The European Society for Organ Transplantation (ESOT) has launched a new research study to better understand current management and clinical practicefor Cytomegalovirus (CMV) in recipients of solid organ transplantation.

CMV remains a significant clinical challenge in transplant care. Through this survey, ESOT aims to capture real-world approaches from clinicians across transplant centres and build a clearer picture of how CMV is currently managed in practice. The findings will contribute to a scientific peer-reviewed publication.

The survey has been developed by a panel of CMV experts selected by ESOT and is being conducted and analysed independently by Bryter, anestablished research agency, on behalf of ESOT.

About the Survey

The full survey takes approximately 30-40 minutes to complete and begins with a few short qualifying questions. In addition, a brief registration survey, taking around 5 minutes, is required before participation.

All responses will be treated as strictly confidential. Participants will remain anonymous unless they explicitly give permission to be identified.

The research is carried out in accordance with EphMRA codes of conduct and complies with EU and UK data protection law. Any personal data providedwill be kept confidential, used only for the stated research purposes, and not retained for longer than six months after project completion. Participants arefree to exit the survey at any time.

Clinicians involved in solid organ transplantation are encouraged to contribute. Broad participation is essential to ensure the findings accurately reflectcurrent clinical practice.

On this basis, participants are asked to provide consent before taking part.
