ESOT Education Committee – Call for nominations 2024

The ESOT Education Committee is delighted to invite applications for one new Board member.

The committee aims to coordinate all educational activities within ESOT. Monthly meetings are held to discuss the current educational programme, organise events, and plan future activities. Education is integrated across the Society, and the Committee closely interacts with all ESOT Sections and Committees.

The committee is looking for an active member with demonstrable experience with education,  a team player and a clear vision for education within ESOT.

The following position is available: Education outreach lead

The lead will be responsible for liaising with organisations outside Europe and initiating new educational events with these organisations.

The new Board member will support the Chair and Vice-Chair in the strategic development and implementation of the ESOT Education programme and will take the lead on specific parts of the programme as detailed above. ESOT members in good standing are welcome to apply for the above position. The new Education Committee Board Member will hold office for three years (2024-2027).

The Education Committee wishes to build a diverse and inclusive Board with a balanced composition regarding gender, ethnicity, age, geographical area, speciality, profession, etc. Young transplant professionals and members of underrepresented groups are particularly encouraged to apply.

Muhammad Khurram, the former Outreach Lead, shared his experience, saying:

“ The Education Committee has been an integral pillar of ESOT, and I have been fortunate to be part of it for the past three years as the Outreach Lead. Our main aim is to extend ESOT’s educational reach beyond the traditional boundaries of Europe. We achieve this by fostering partnerships with transplant institutions, professionals, and patient groups to enhance the accessibility and impact of transplantation education.
We would like you to apply for this role where you will help shape innovative ways to promote education with a global reach. You will have the opportunity to work with world leaders in transplantation, expand your professional network, and grow personally and professionally. All of this will be achieved while collaborating with the most amazing, intelligent, and dedicated group of individuals all promoting transplant education .”
