Join us for the Second ESOT Workshop of the series that will take place in different languages throughout the year, titled “The Science of ECP in Transplantation”, to explore the transformative role of Extracorporeal Photopheresis (ECP) in managing rejection in organ transplantation.
PLEASE NOTE: This workshop will be conducted in Spanish
Around 25% of organ transplant recipients experience acute rejection within the first year after transplantation. This rejection, categorized into cellular (ACR) and antibody-mediated (AMR) forms, presents significant challenges alongside the long-term threat of chronic rejection. Balancing the benefits and risks of immunosuppressive therapies, while addressing issues like opportunistic infections and malignancies, remains critical.
ECP emerges as a promising therapy, with the potential to modulate alloimmune responses effectively without suppressing immune defenses against infections or malignancies. However, its precise mechanism of action (MoA) is still under investigation.
Learning Objectives
To provide an overview of the indications for ECP in solid organ transplantation, to address the unmet needs, educational gaps, and the inequality of access for patients for ECP treatment after solid organ transplantation.
This webinar is tailored for Physicians, Scientists, Allied Health Care Professionals, Nurses, and Patients [Spanish speaking] interested in the evolving landscape of transplant therapies.
