The European Commission has announced plans to present comprehensive proposals for the post-2027 Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) and the next generation of financial programs later this year. The initiative aims to create a more focused, streamlined, and impactful EU budget, aligning with the Union’s strategic priorities and the Commission’s ambition to become an “investment Commission.”
As part of this effort, the Commission has launched a series of public consultations, inviting citizens, organisations, and stakeholders to share their feedback by May 7, 2025. These consultations provide a key opportunity for participants to influence the future direction of EU funding, particularly regarding health and food safety policies.
The EU4Health program, which plays a vital role in supporting the Substances of Human Origin (SoHO) sector, is expected to remain a cornerstone of the EU’s health strategy. Contributions from the public will help ensure that critical concerns related to health and food safety are adequately reflected in the upcoming budget.
The following series of public consultations were launched and are open for feedback until 7 May 2025:
- EU’s next long-term budget (MFF) – EU funding for competitiveness
- EU’s next long-term budget (MFF) – EU funding for civil protection, preparedness and response to crises
- EU’s next long-term budget (MFF) – EU funding for the single market, and cooperation between national authorities
- EU’s next long-term budget (MFF) – EU funding for cross-border education, training and solidarity, young people, media, culture, and creative sectors, values, and civil society
