Dear Colleagues and friends,
With profound sadness that we announce the passing of our esteemed colleague and ECTORS board member, Bojan Vrtovec, who left us far too soon on January 12 at the age of 52.
Bojan served as Chief of Cardiology and Medical Director of the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplantation Program at Ljubljana University Hospital. He was a pioneer in the field of cardiac regeneration, he was a leader in advancing scientific knowledge and clinical care.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bojan was a joyful, energetic, and compassionate friend. He dedicated his life to patients, research, and education, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of working with him.
His legacy will live on, both in the advancements he championed and in the countless lives he touched.
Our thoughts are with his family during this incredibly difficult time. We stand by them in their grief and celebrate the remarkable life of a truly extraordinary person.
