Description & Objectives:

This is the largest meeting in Europe in the field of beta cell replacement, including pancreas and islet transplantation and stem cell-derived insulin-secreting cells. Scientists, clinicians, students, and the technical staff share knowledge, experiences and outcomes. This meeting is critical to guide young professionals and collectively provide a European and International Consensus.

Scientists, Clinicians, Trainees, physicians and surgeons, and Allied Healthcare Professionals.

– Clinical allo-islet
– Clinical auto-islet

As well as Case studies for presentation during the workshop:

Awards

The 15th EPITA Symposium will award the highest-scored abstracts:

  • Best Oral Presentation
    • Clinical (500 EUR)
    • Basic Science (500 EUR)


Special call for the Beta Breakthroughs Pitch Session

The Beta Breakthroughs Pitch Session is a high-energy, rapid-fire showcase designed to spotlight research with the power to change the future of transplantation science and clinical care. In just three minutes, presenters must distill their work to its most compelling. At the end of the session, the audience will vote for their favourite pitch, and the presenter with the highest score will be awarded with a 1-year ESOT membership (with EPITA affiliation) or a free registration to one of the ESOT events taking place in 2026.

Open to:

  • PhD students
  • Postdoctoral fellows
  • Residents
  • Early-stage professionals (within five years of first faculty appointment)


Requirements:

  • Mini Abstract / Pitch Summary (max 300 words), covering:
    1. Title of your pitch
    2. Problem you’re addressing (Background)
    3. Solution you propose (Aims)
    4. How you’ll solve it (Methods and any supporting data)
    5. Next steps for your research
    6. Significance statement, why this matters for the future of beta cell replacement therapy
  • Short Bio or 1-page CV

All cancellations must be submitted in writing to the ESOT Team at registrations@esot.org.

  • Cancellations received on or before 20 December 2025 will be eligible for a refund, minus a 30% administrative fee.
  • Cancellations received after 20 December 2025 will not be eligible for a refund.Refunds will be processed within 60 days following the conclusion of the event.
