Description & Objectives:

The 4th ECTORS Meeting brings together leading scientists, clinicians and early-career researchers to explore the latest advances in cellular therapies and regenerative medicine in organ transplantation.

Over two highly focused days, participants will benefit from a dynamic mix of invited lectures and abstract presentations, delivering cutting-edge science and translational insight. The scientific programme will address key and emerging topics, including stem cell applications, machine perfusion, organ preservation and regeneration, bioprinting and organ-on-chip technologies, immune engineering, xenotransplantation and innovative regenerative medicine strategies to improve transplant outcomes.

This year’s edition will also feature an exclusive hands-on laboratory session delivered using state-of-the-art techniques, offering participants a unique opportunity to engage directly with advanced experimental approaches.

Why this meeting matters

As a small- to medium-sized, in-person scientific meeting dedicated specifically to stem cell research and regenerative medicine in the context of organ transplantation, the 4th ECTORS Meeting creates a highly focused environment for meaningful scientific exchange.
Its format enables a high density of information, close interaction between experts and early-career professionals, and in-depth discussion of a rapidly evolving field that is shaping the future of transplantation.

Learning objectives

By attending the meeting, participants will:

  • Hear the latest developments in clinical regeneration

  • Gain up-to-date insight into immunomodulatory cell therapies in transplantation

  • Learn about the introduction of cell-based therapies in machine perfusion

  • Discover novel advances in organoid research and their potential applications in transplantation

Target Group:

Researchers and clinicians from the transplant field interested in regenerative medicine.

Directions to venue
Cambridge local airport exists but is primarily used for private/charter flights rather than commercial air travel. All the major London airports are readily accessible via road and rail, but the closest airport to Cambridge is London Stansted (STN).

Once in Cambridge, the best ways to travel from the city centre to Cambridge University Campus are using the frequent Universal (U1/U2) bus service (connecting West Cambridge, city centre, and Biomedical Campus), taking a 15–20-minute walk, or using the Park & Ride scheme.

  • Bus: The Universal bus runs every 15 minutes, connecting major areas including the railway station and city centre. Other local buses run from St Andrew’s Street and Emmanuel Street.
  • Walking/Cycling: The city is compact, making walking or cycling from the centre to most colleges and departments efficient.
  • Train: Cambridge Railway Station is a 15–20-minute walk or short bus/taxi ride (approx. 4 mins) from the city centre.
  • Car/Park & Ride: Driving into the centre is restricted; using one of the city’s Park & Ride sites is highly recommended.
