Željka Gavranović is a senior consultant in anesthesiology and intensive care medicine and hospital transplant coordinator at Sestre milosrdnice University Hospital Center. Assistant at the School of Medicine, Catholic University of Croatia in Zagreb.
Lecturer at many national and international courses for transplant coordinators (Croatia, Spain, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, Turkey, China, India) as an organ donation expert. Expert lecturer at many TAIEX workshops for South Eastern European countries (Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia). Expert in TAIEX INTPA Expert Mission to Support for the development of the National Healthcare Policy on live donor and deceased organ donation and transplantation, with an emphasis on renal replacement in Barbados. Expert in the Odissea Project (Erasmus + project Organ Donation Innovative Strategies for Southeast Asia). Investigator on the ODEQUS project (Organ Donation European Quality System).
Member of the drafting group for the elaboration of the 6th, 8th, 9th, and 10th editions of “Guide to the quality and safety of organs for transplantation” published by the European Directorate for Quality in Medicine and Council of Europe.
Organ donation expert in international programs for the enhancement of the deceased organ donation system in Saudi Arabia and Hong Kong.
Accredited with the European Certificate of Transplant Coordinator (UEMS-CETC). Member of European Society for Organ Transplantation (ESOT), The Transplantation Society (TTS), The International Society for Organ Donation and Procurement (ISODP), and European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM).
