I have worked as a nurse for over 25 years. My professional career has always been related to hepatology and also to liver transplantation. I worked as a nurse in the Liver Surgery and Transplantation Unit for eight years, and since 2014 I have worked as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) for liver transplant patients as a responsible for assessing and following up with post-transplant patients. In addition, for 11 years I have been responsible for the liver transplant quality program. I am deeply driven by a desire to improve, research, implement, and promote interventions and activities that enhance the quality of life and well-being of our patients. I am fortunate to be part of a nationally leading liver transplant team at Hospital Clínic in Barcelona, where innovation, evidence-based practice, and continuous improvement of our clinical care are priorities.
One of my main areas of interest is the comprehensive follow-up of liver transplant recipients, particularly in managing medication side effects and in the prevention, early detection, and monitoring of complications, especially cardiovascular risk factors and new tumors. I strongly believe that interdisciplinary care is essential to achieving long-term positive outcomes and improving patients’ quality of life.
I am firmly convinced that collaboration between nurses and other healthcare professionals is vital for improving the quality and safety of transplant throughout Europe. Being part of the ETAHP community is a valuable opportunity to optimize transplant care management and promote excellence at every stage of the transplant journey.
