ECTORS Board Member 2025-2029

Mekhola joined the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh as a consultant kidney/pancreas transplant and abdominal organ retrieval surgeon in October 2022. She completed her transplant surgical training and PhD in transplant immunology in Cambridge. Her research interests include cell therapy, organ resuscitation and regeneration. She is passionate about applying latest advancements in robotics, machine-learning and automation for the advancement of transplantation. Her current projects include drone-assisted delivery of organs for transplantation; development of vascular biografts; and smart laboratory development. During her term with ECTORS Mekhola looks forward to promoting these themes which she believes will be key to future developments in this field. Mekhola would be delighted to hear from potential collaborators/medical students/scientists.
