Quality of Life after Liver Transplantation Steering committee member

Maria Cristina Morelli (MD, Ph.D.) graduated from Bologna University in 1986 and completed her residency in Gastroenterology at Bologna University Hospital until 1991.

Since 2007 she has been working as a hepatologist in the Unit of General Surgery and Transplantation, responsible for managing patients waiting for liver transplantation or during the postoperative phase of liver transplantation. Since March 2014 she is the Director of Operative Unit of Internal Medicine aimed at the treatment of severe organ insufficiency in particular patients with liver failure. She is the coordinator for the pre-transplant phase of the Liver Transplantation Program at S. Orsola-Malpighi Hospital.

Member of the Regional Technical Commission “Transplantation of liver, intestine and multivisceral” of Emilia Romagna. Member of the “National Technical and Scientific Commission Transplantation in HIV,” Coordinator for the pre-transplant phase of the Liver Transplantation Program in S. Orsola-Malpighi Hospital.

Since April 2018 she has been a member of the Transplant Permanent Commission of the Italian Association for the study of the liver (AISF). She is also a member of EASL (European Association for the Study of the Liver) and the International Liver Transplant Society (ILTS).
