Hanne Scholz is a senior researcher of Cell Transplantation and Regenerative Medicine and the Director of the Human Islet Isolation Facility at Oslo University Hospital.
In 2018 she joined the University of Oslo as principle investigator and vice director at The Hybrid Technology Hub Center of Excellence.
She is active in research in the fields of islet isolation and transplantation, beta cell replacement therapy, 3D bioprinting, tissue engineering, diabetes, stem cell biology, cellular therapy, and organ on a chip technology and has contributed to over 60 peer-reviewed publications. She works in a multidisciplinary research environment of basic scientists, medical clinicians, surgeons and bioengineering technicians.
Hanne Scholz holds a Bachelor Degree in Bioengineering from Bergen College of Engineering (1994) and a Master of Science in Human Physiology from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (2000) at UiO followed by a doctoral degree at the Faculty of Medicine, Institute of Clinical Medicine (2006).
