Dilan Dabare FRCS PhD is a Kidney Transplant Surgeon in Birmingham (UK). He specialises in all aspects of kidney transplantation including laparoscopic donor nephrectomy as well complex dialysis access surgery.
Dilan has a PhD from the University of Birmingham. His PhD was on ‘Objective assessment of quality of perfusion in kidney transplantation’. His current research interests include the perioperative optimisation and prehabilitation of transplant patients.
Dilan completed his surgical training in 2021 in London UK. He has an active role in training and education. Throughout his training he has been an active member of trainee societies including the UK’s Herrick Society, helping trainees with educational and networking opportunities.
Dilan become a Board member and then Vice-Chair of YPT in 2021. Over the last two years, he successfully launched and deliver a Podcast series on career development which are available on Spotify. He is interested in developing collaborations and providing a platform for young professionals to share and develop together.
