Dr Andreas Kousios is a consultant nephrologist at Nefrontida Medical Centre in Nicosia, Cyprus. He trained in Nephrology initially in Cyprus and subsequently in Hammersmith Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. He has served as a consultant nephrologist in Hammersmith hospital since 2019, one of the largest UK and European Transplant centres. He has gained significant experience in renal and pancreas transplantation working in a multidisciplinary team of health professionals. He has a major interest in living kidney donation with clinical work in a dedicated pre-donation and post-donation living donor clinics. Dr Andreas Kousios has co-organised and participated in educational donor- and recipient-centred meetings promoting living donation. He has presented clinical research at national and international meetings, focusing on donors’ outcomes and other transplant-related areas. Dr Andreas Kousios is an honorary senior clinical lecturer at Imperial College London. He holds an MSc in Molecular Medicine and Genetics and he is a candidate for an MSc in Epidemiology.

Having repatriated to his native country Cyprus in 2023, Dr Andreas Kousios aims to transfer his clinical experience working closely with Cypriot colleagues and the Cypriot renal association to advance kidney transplantation in Cyprus. His focus is to promote and increase awareness on transplantation with emphasis on living pre-emptive kidney donation, especially in small countries in the periphery of Europe.
