With over 15 years of experience in healthcare evaluation and user-led decision-making, she is a senior applied social scientist. Her areas of expertise include theory-driven evaluation, advanced qualitative methods, and their application in mixed-methods studies. Dr. Manzano has an extensive publication record that encompasses topics such as evaluation quality standards, organ donation, organ trafficking, and the intricacies of user decision-making in healthcare. Notably, she is credited with introducing the concept of ‘organ laundering,’ a term now widely utilised in the policy literature related to organ trade and transplantation abroad.
