ESOT Mobility Grants (International) are available in support of non-European transplant professionals to visit a European Transplant Centre for a variable period to acquire specific knowledge and skills important for their career progression.

Target Audience
Non-European transplant professionals of all disciplines.

Grant Offering

Up to EUR 6.000 will be paid directly to each successful applicant.

ESOT will cover travel expenses related to each successful applicant’s stay in the identified European Transplant Centre for up to EUR 6.000. ESOT will advance 50% of the total grant amount only after submission of all documentation needed for travel. The remaining part will be calculated and reimbursed based on the receipts the successful applicants will submit as proof of their actual expenses.

Duration of the grant

From a minimum of 3 weeks. Those who apply for a longer period will be prioritised.

Applications open on 4 August and close on 6 October.

  • Applicants must reside/work outside Europe (Europe is defined by ESOT membership criteria, which include the following countries: Western Europe (UK, Ireland, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, Liechtenstein); Northern Europe (Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia); Southern Europe (Spain, Andorra, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Malta, Turkey, Croatia, Slovenia, Republic of North Macedonia, Cyprus, San Marino, Albania, Bosnia Herzegovina, Montenegro, Monaco); Eastern Europe (Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Moldova, Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan).
  • Applicants must use the grant to visit a European Transplant Centre.
  • Applicants must be ESOT members in good standing at the time of application (with an active ESOT “International Membership”/”Reduced Membership”) and for the whole study period [check your membership here]
  • 1 out of 3 ESOT Mobility Grants (International) will be reserved for applicants working and residing in non-European low-income and lower middle-income countries according to the World Bank classification.
