Description & Objectives:

This four-day online course provides a comprehensive update on renal transplantation for nephrology clinicians, renal transplant surgeons, transplant nurses, and living donor and recipient transplant coordinators.

Participants will explore the full kidney transplant pathway, from donor and recipient assessment to surgical procedures and post-transplant care. Through expert-led sessions and discussions of complex clinical cases, the course offers practical insights into the challenges of everyday transplant practice.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to assess kidney donors and recipients, understand the principles of tissue typing and surgical transplantation, and apply current approaches to the medical management of transplant recipients and transplant-related complications. They will also analyse real-world cases involving donor and recipient assessment, cross-matching, and infectious complications, strengthening their clinical decision-making and identifying opportunities to improve patient care and the transplant pathway.
