Annual meeting of the Francophone Society of Transplantation – Endorsed by ESOT

Start Date:
Tuesday, December 13th 2022
End Date:
Friday, December 16th 2022
Country:
Lyon, France
Description & Objectives:

Lyon will host the congress of the French-speaking Society of Transplantation from December 13 to 16, 2022. Since the opening of this medical-surgical chapter at the end of the 19th century, the Hospices Civils de Lyon has maintained a long tradition of innovation in the field of organ transplantation. From the development of the vascular suture to the first transplantations of vascularized composite grafts; from the development of anti-lymphocyte serum to the development of regenerative medicine techniques (reconstructed skin and cornea, islet transplantation within the framework of the GRAGIL network). In addition to this clinical requirement, a translational research activity exploring the mechanisms of rejection and ischemia/reperfusion phenomena has recently been added.

The hosting of the SFT annual meeting will be an opportunity to bridge the gap between past successes and current problems and to outline the future promises of transplantation. This is the common thread that has guided the development of the programme: a “hall of fame” of the pioneers of transplantation, a reflection on the consequences of the aging of recipients, conducted in collaboration with the French Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology, plenary lectures reviewing the latest clinical and scientific innovations, thematic workshops summarising the practice by organ, without forgetting the sessions dedicated to the donation and the presentation of your best abstracts.
