Description & Objectives:

Cytomegalovirus (CMV) remains a major infectious challenge after solid organ transplantation, particularly in cases of refractory or drug-resistant disease requiring second-line therapies.

Through two case-based presentations, one in a lung transplant recipient and one following combined paediatric liver and kidney transplantation, this workshop will address practical strategies for managing complex CMV infection. In paediatric transplant recipients, management requires careful consideration of factors that differ from adults, including immune response, pharmacogenetics, drug toxicity, dosing optimisation, and therapeutic monitoring.

Designed to be highly interactive and clinically focused, this interactive session aims to provide with evidence-informed, practice-oriented approaches to managing complex CMV scenarios across age groups and transplant populations.

This online session is free to attend and open to all clinicians and allied professionals working in solid organ transplantation.
