Organ perfusion and resuscitation has developed strongly worldwide, resulting in a growing need for experts in this area. The training course provides a combination of hands-on training, theoretical knowledge and practical tips and tricks on all aspects of organ machine perfusion. Besides being taught by world-renowned experts you will become part of an internal community that focus on the development of organ perfusionists, thereby learning with and from colleagues all over the world.
The programme consists of the following subjects: physiology, biomechanics, and organ donation (basic knowledge), liver, lung, heart and kidney perfusion. The course has a duration of 1 year and consists of 14 live online interactive sessions, three hands on training weeks at the UMCG, and two online assessments. In preparation to the teaching days and training weeks, you will get access to e-learnings with state of the art research papers, videos and guiding questions.
