ESOT joined forces with Biotest and Takeda on a project designed to advance the management of transplant-specific infections through a dual focus on understanding clinical practice gaps and generating data to inform future guidelines.
The project aims to identify unmet needs in infection management and support consensus-based recommendations to enhance patient outcomes. It is built on a global survey to assess current diagnostic and management practices for CMV, with the goal of updating the 2019 survey. The multidisciplinary working group will analyse the survey findings, draft consensus documents, and foster collaboration among experts, in order to refine and disseminate guidelines with input from healthcare professionals and facilitate initial adoption at select centres.
