Education Committee Vice-chair 2024 - 2027

I am a transplant and vascular access surgeon at the Royal London hospital, Bart’s Health in London. I graduated in Pakistan and came to the UK where did all of my basic and higher surgical training. I did my PhD in transplant immunology and tumour biology, looking to expand the donor pool and recently a PG cert in genomics to better understand its potential in transplantation. I am actively involved in teaching, from undergraduates at Queen Mary University of London, to surgical trainees at both membership and fellowship exams and am part of Royal college of surgeons of England’s faculty. My research interests include machine perfusion, transplant immunology, machine learning and artificial intelligence in transplantation and advanced vascular access among others. I am the surgical lead for medical support worker programme at Bart’s health, helping refugee doctors in securing an NHS career.
