About: AIPI, Associazione Italiana Ipertensione Polmonare, was founded in 2011 in Bologna by a group of patients with pulmonary hypertension, a severe and life-threatening lung/heart condition. Treatments developed over the past 20 years have improved the quality of life and survival of patients but the only option for end stage disease is lung or heart lung transplant. AIPI supports patients and their families via dedicated helplines, dissemination of information via social media and a quarterly magazine, patient meetings, professional psychological, legal and financial support. It also runs awareness campaigns and is active in advocating for patient rights with regional and national health authorities.
