The aim of the Education Committee (EC) is to coordinate ESOT’s efforts to advance multidisciplinary education for transplant professionals at all career levels and to contribute to their professional development.

ECTTA is the forum for experience exchange on treatment of patients with end-stage heart and lung failure. Our aim is to improve outcomes for the patients.
EDTCO aims to support health care professionals to provide clinically effective programmes on organ and tissue donation, procurement and transplantation.

The European Liver and Intestine Transplant Association (ELITA), previously known as the European Liver Transplant Association (ELTA), is a section of ESOT. Its membership represents the expertise on liver and intestinal transplantation in Europe.
ELPAT is a European platform that brings continuity and progress in European research and dialogue on "Ethical, Legal and Psychosocial Aspects of organ Transplantation". ELPAT currently consists of over 160 experts from more than 25 European countries.
EPITA is established to provide a forum for those working in the field of pancreas and islet of Langerhans transplantation or any other alternative form of beta cell replacement in Europe, to exchange scientific information and views related primarily to providing the best service for patients in Europe requiring pancreas or islet transplantation.
VCA has opened a new era in the field of transplantation, reconstructive and restorative surgery. This Section brings together 10 representatives of major European teams at the forefront in this field.
Dr Antonia Cronin qualified in medicine from St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London School of Medicine in 1996. She completed her general medical training and obtained membership of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom (MRCP, UK) in 1999. Her specialist training in nephrology and transplantation included posts at Hammersmith Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital, and Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. From 2006-2009 she was a Wellcome Trust Research Training Fellow with Professor Sir Robert Lechler at King’s College London, and Professor John Harris at the University of Manchester. She was appointed consultant nephrologist in April 2010.
Alongside her clinical expertise in nephrology and transplantation, Antonia has an internationally renowned portfolio of academic expertise in the field of organ donation and transplantation ethics and law. She completed an MA in Medical Law and Ethics at the Centre for Medical Law and Ethics, School of Law, King’s College, London in 2006, and received a distinction award. She obtained a PhD in Medical Law and Ethics in 2009 from the Institute for Science, Ethics and Innovation, at the School of Law, University of Manchester. In 2013 she was appointed honorary senior lecturer in organ donation and transplantation ethics at the MRC Centre for Transplantation, King’s College London. She is a tutor at the Centre for Medical Law and Ethics at King’s and affiliate member of King’s College Social Science, Health and Biomedicine, Ethics and Social Justice research group.
Antonia’s expertise in ethics and law has led to numerous public and professional appointments. From 2008-2016 she was a trustee of the Governing Body of the Institute of Medical Ethics (IME). From 2012-2016 she was appointed member of the UK Government’s Donation Ethics Committee (UKDEC). During this appointment she contributed to numerous policies on organ donation ethics published by the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges. From 2008-2011 and from 2014-2018 she was Chair of the British Transplantation Society (BTS) Ethics Committee and BTS Council Member. In this role she organised and facilitated national symposia, conferences and industry sponsored events and worked alongside stakeholders to develop national guidelines and position statements. Since 2017 she has been a board member of the Ethical Legal and Psychological Aspects of Transplantation (ELPAT) group, which is a sub-section of the European Society of Transplantation (ESOT). She is co-chair of their Ethical and Legal Boundaries section.
