Dr. Anne Flodén has almost 40 years of experience in nursing. For 20 years she worked as a nurse anesthetist and an intensive and critical care specialist, followed by 15 years as a transplant coordinator in organ donation at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Gothenburg Sweden. Her doctoral dissertation (2011) investigated attitudes towards organ donation in the ICU, focusing on professional and organisational development. Dr. Flodén’s post-doctorate research is ongoing both nationally and internationally. She is running a research project in the USA as a guest researcher at OneLegacy, Los Angeles. Some other examples of Dr. Flodén’s activities are: Editor for the Swedish Transplant News, 2001-2014; International Director on the Board of Directors for International Transplant Nurses Society (ITNS) 2012-2014 and Research Director 2017-2019; Co-chair of the 20th annual ITNS symposium held in Gothenburg; Representative for the three Swedish nursing organizations in the Government Inquiry of the Swedish organ donation activities, including suggestions for the future, SOU 201:84. Furthermore, Dr. Flodén is a frequently invited lecturer both nationally and internationally within the field of organ donation. Currently Dr. Flodén is working as a Clinical Researcher at Södra Älvsborg Hospital, Borås, where she continues her research within the field of organ donation and transplantation. Moreover she holds a position as Assistant Professor at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden.
