Kristine Dengsø works at Department of Surgery and Liver Transplantation at Rigshospitalet, Denmark. She has more than 20 years of experience as being a registered nurse, and extensive experience of major abdominal surgery and liver and pancreatic transplantation. Kristine completed her bachelor in 2003 in Copenhagen. During the nurse education she spend three months in clinical practice Greenland. After working four years as a nurse Kristine became clinical instructor where she had the responsibility for nursing students in the clinical practice.
Kristine has always had a passion for research within improvement of healthcare, and in 2012 Kristine completed her master’s in health science at Copenhagen University. Hereafter, Kristine worked as a clinical nurse specialist and research project leader. In 2020 she finalised her PhD. about major abdominal cancer surgery. Hereafter, she started her postdoctoral project Life after Liver Transplantation and is now leading a research programme investigating the effects of physical exercise to reduce cardiovascular and metabolic complications in recipients and their relatives post liver transplantation. This research includes both use of qualitative & quantitative research. Kristine is further associate professor at Copenhagen University where she teach and supervise master students and PhD courses.
