I am a researcher at the kidney affecting diseases and innovation in the extracellular vesicles group (REMAR/IVECAT) at IGTP (Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute) in Badalona. My main research is focused on the immunomodulatory capacities of MSC on B cell activation and on Breg induction in vitro and in the therapeutic role of Extracellular Vesicles in kidney injury and regeneration.
After obtaining my Ph.D. in the Experimental Kidney Transplantation group at Hospital de Bellvitge (Barcelona) led by Prof. Grinyó I moved to The Netherlands to continue researching in the field of Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSC) and their application in kidney transplantation. In the Transplantation laboratory at Erasmus Medical Center (Rotterdam) led by Dr. MJ Hoogduijn and Prof. CC Baan I could deepen in the study of the immunomodulatory properties of MSC and became an active member of the MiSOT group. After this fruitful post-doctoral experience, I returned to Barcelona to establish my research group. Since 2018 I am a board member of ECTORS and Geivex (Spanish society of extracellular vesicles).
