Dr. Kiran Khush is a Professor of Medicine, Director of Heart Transplant Research, and transplant cardiologist at Stanford University. She is a clinical and translational NIH-funded investigator who runs a wide ranging research program with projects related to (1) evidence-based evaluation and selection of donors for heart transplantation, (2) pathogenesis of primary graft dysfunction after heart transplantation, (3) development and testing of novel genomic biomarkers for heart transplant rejection, (4) novel therapies for prevention of cardiac allograft vasculopathy, and (5) development of assays to assess net state of immunosuppression. Dr. Khush is the program director of the advanced heart failure transplant cardiology fellowship at Stanford and is Deputy Editor of the Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation.
