Professor Ina Jochmans has been a consultant Abdominal Transplant Surgeon at the University Hospitals Leuven in Belgium since 2013 and is a member of the faculty of the KU Leuven as an Assistant Professor of Surgery. In addition to her clinical work, she has a passion for research, with main research interests focusing on organ preservation, machine perfusion, and ischaemia-reperfusion injury. As partner of the Consortium for Organ Preservation in Europe (COPE), funded by the European Commission’s FP7 programme, Professor Jochmans is currently working on further advancing organ preservation techniques for kidney and liver. She is a member of many surgical and transplant-related societies, including the Transplantation Society, the European Society of Organ Transplantation, the American Society of Transplantation, and the Belgian Transplantation Society.
