As of March 12, 2024, Dr. Giuseppe Feltrin serves as Director General of the National Transplant Center (CNT), the coordinating body of the Italian Transplant Network, located at the Istituto Superiore di Sanità in Rome. Dr. Feltrin is also President of FOEDUS and Chair of the South Alliance for Transplantation.
Before being appointed Director General of the CNT, Dr. Feltrin served as the Regional Transplant Coordinator of the Veneto Region. He was also Director of the UOSD Regional Transplant Center at the Azienda Ospedale–University of Padua, as well as Head of the Regional Transplant Coordinating Structure of the Veneto Region. From 2002 to 2013, Dr. Feltrin worked in the Department of Cardiac Surgery at the Azienda Ospedaliera/University of Padua, where he completed his training in cardiac surgery. During this period, he took part in several general cardiac surgery procedures—including heart transplantation, mechanical circulatory support implantation, and donor heart procurement—both as an assistant and as a first surgeon.
He has participated, and continues to participate, in numerous national and international projects, and is the author of more than 70 scientific publications in the fields of donation and transplantation, as well as innovative technical procedures at both regional and national levels.
