ETAHP Vice-Chair 2023-2025

I became a registered nurse in 1989 and worked for a good ten years at the surgical liver transplant ward of the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG), the Netherlands. From 2000-2009, I worked as a researcher in the field of integrated care. In 2009 I returned to the field of organ transplantation for my PhD study on psychological aspects of transplantation. I defended my thesis entitled “What’s on your mind? Emotions ad perceptions of liver transplant candidates and recipients” at the University of Groningen in 2017. Since then, I am working as senior researcher at the department of Health Sciences, section of Nursing Science of the UMCG. My research focuses on the optimization of transplant care by an integrated and  person-centered approach. Being an ETAHP member gives me the opportunity to discuss ideas and to share knowledge and results of my research with transplant professionals.
