10th NICE/EPITA Islet Isolation and Beta Cell Replacement Workshop

Description & Objectives:

The workshop will provide theoretical education and in-person training to scientists, physicians, surgeons and technicians who have an interest in the field of beta cell replacement therapy and regenerative medicine. Participants will improve their knowledge on islet isolation and transplantation, learn novel techniques and have the opportunity to network with like-minded peers and renowned experts.   

Educational Objectives
After attending this workshop participants will be able to:

  •   Beta cell replacement therapy programs in Europe
  •   Introduction of novel human islet isolation technique
  •   Counting and quality control of islets
  •   3D bioprinting of cell-laden scaffolds
  •   Generation of organoid and spheroid models
  •   Engineering organ-on-chip platform
  • Implementation of new technologies in beta cell replacement
Target Group:

Basic scientists, physicians, surgeons and technicians with specific interest in the field of beta cell replacement therapies and regenerative medicine strategies for diabetes.

Getting to the venue:

To arrive at the NICE EPITA Venue please take Tram #17 or #18 from city center towards Rikshospitalet. – get off at the last stop: Rikshospitalet. You will find the entrance to Domus Medica on the left hand side of the stop.

How to register


Regular fees (until 31st of May):

  • ESOT member:  5250 NOK (approx 525 EUR)**
  • Non-member:  6250 NOK (approx.625 EUR)


Late fees (from 01st of June 2022):

  • ESOT member*: 6500 NOK (approx 650 EUR)**
  • Non-member:      7500 NOK (approx.750 EUR)

Please note that due the Norwegian tax regulations all prices are set in local currency. The registration fee can be paid with international credit cards on the daily rate of the respective bank.

Currency exchange rates as of 01 April is 1  EUR= 9.674 NOK

In order to be eligible to register with an ESOT member fee, you must be an active ESOT member at least until the end of the course.
