ELPAT Chair

Dr. Christina Papachristou is a Clinical and Research Associate at the Department for Psychosomatic Medicine of the Charité University Hospital in Berlin, Germany since 2001. She has extensive experience in the assessment and support of living organ donors and organ recipients and has published in several medical and social science journals on this subject. She has been a core participant in ELIPSY, a European Union funded research programme about the psychosocial health of living donors and has been an invited speaker on numerous national and international meetings. She is an active member of ELPAT (Ethical, Legal and Psychosocial Aspects of Transplantation), a member of LIDOBS (Living Donor Observatory) and of the DTG (German Transplantation Society). A clinical psychologist with a strong interest in public health related issues, health policy and ethics she attained her degree in Psychology in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece, an MPH at the Technical University of Berlin and completed her doctoral degree (Dr. rer. medic.) at the Charité-Universitätsmedizin Berlin. A trained psychotherapist she also completed a Masters in Health Economics, Policy and Management at the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2011.
