EPITA
Introduction
The European Pancreas and Islet Transplant Association (EPITA) was founded in 2007 as a dedicated expert group and section of ESOT. The aims of EPITA are to provide a forum for the pancreas and islet transplantation community in Europe and to contribute to the development of this field and of alternate forms of beta-cell replacement therapy for the benefit of patients suffering from diabetes. The founding of EPITA took place during a successful pre-transplant symposium on the occasion of the 2007 Congress of ESOT in Prague. As EPITA is taking off and pancreas and islet transplantation gain visibility in the ESOT educational programs, we invite you to join this dynamic new section of our society and contribute to its growth. We welcome you to its activities during the 2009 biannual Meeting of ESOT.
EPITA membership is available to all ESOT members in good standing and represents the expertise on pancreas and islet transplantation in Europe. EPITA membership is gained at no additional fee by informing the ESOT Secretariat:
Donna.Wright@luht.scot.nhs.uk. EPITA membership gives free access to the EPITA post-graduate course.
